Kendriya Vidyalaya is a system of primary and secondary education in India, which is mainly designed for the children of employees of the Central Government of India. It was started in

1963 and since then it is affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education of India. At present the number of Kendriya Vidyalayas in India is 1,225[2]. Apart from this, there are three Kendriya Vidyalayas abroad in which children of employees of Indian embassies and other overseas Indians study. The schools follow the curriculum of the National Council of Educational Research and Training of India. All Kendriya Vidyalayas are run by an organization named Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan. The main four missions of Kendriya Vidyalayas are as follows 

Transferable employees of Central Government including Defense-Army like BSF, CRPF, etc and personnel of paramilitary forces. To meet the educational needs of children by providing them education under the general program of education. 2. To set excellence and speed in the field of school education. 3. New experiments in the field of education in collaboration with other bodies like Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSC), National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) etc. and Incorporating innovation. 4. To develop the feeling of national unity and 'Indianness' in children.

Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, KVS is an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India. Which was established to make the Indian education system effective and to bring comprehensiveness in the field of education.The biggest objective of the formation of this organization was to give education of the same level and same curriculum to the children of the employees working in the transferred posts. For this type of education, the first regiment schools were established. In 1963 the number of these schools was about 20.The structure and objectives of its organization are similar to that of Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS).

the central government started setting up many such schools to provide education to the children of such employees, which were directly related to the center. The Indian government first included 20 regimental schools under the education department. These were given the status of Kendriya Vidyalayas. Their curriculum was established under the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). After that Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangthan, KVS was formed to provide completion to such schools.

General Body – Higher officials come under the general body. Its Chairman is the Minister of the Ministry of Human Resource Development and its Minister of State is holding the post of Deputy Chairman. Ministers of many areas are also included in their members. Administrative body – It consists of 11 members. In which there are 1 commissioner, 5 deputy commissioners, 2 joint commissioners and 3 other members. Under this, three committees work – Finance Committee, Construction Committee and Advisory Committee. 2) Regional level - At the regional level, higher officials, three educational officers and other employees work. These officers are responsible for the successful construction and implementation of CBSE examinations to be constituted at the regional level. 3) Local level – School Management Committee is formed by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) for the provision of local level education. In which the District Magistrate plays the main role.
