SPIPA is an institute of the Gujarat government. Established in 1962 to give training to Gujarat government administrators and gazette officers. later in 1974, it was named SPIPA which means Sardar Patel Institute of

Public Administration. located near ISRO and in a well-developed area of Ahmedabad city. And nowadays, it is more famous for its UPSC training center. but it has a total of four different Centre like.An enormous number of candidates are applying for the SPIPA Civil Services Examination 2021 Training Class to get selected for various posts like IAS, IPS, IFS, etc. The Sardar Patel Institute of Public Administration has come up with the Gujarat Civil Services Exam 2021 Notification. The Institute is inviting applications from dynamic & talented candidates to fulfill various vacant positions. The Institute was renamed as Sardar Patel Institute of Public Administration in 1974. It became on autonomous body (registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860) in October 2004, so as to gain that essential flexibility in fulfilling its role and meeting the expectations of the State Government. OverviewNamed after the Iron Man of India, the Sardar Patel Institute of Public Administration, popularly known as SPIPA, was established as an institution for training government functionaries. The Institute is strongly committed to development of human capital. It provides state-of-the-art training in public administration, rural development, local self government, disaster management and related areas so as to optimize the competence of Government employees and, thereby, helps realize the endeavor of ideal governance.






 SPIPA derives inspiration from the Ashoka Chakra, the symbol of ideal governance. The Chakra has 24 spokes, each of which stands for a vital characteristic of good governance. CIVIL SERVICE STUDY CENTER To fulfill the government's objective of driving the state's youth towards a career in the civil services, SPIPA's Civil Service Study Centre imparts comprehensive training to the youth of Gujarat who aspire to succeed in the highly competitive UPSC exam and join the civil services, be it the IAS, IPS, IFS, IRS etc. Civil Service Study Center For this, SPIPA lays a host of facilities at their disposal: expert faculty equipped to train the aspirants to clear all three levels of the exam, a well stocked library containing all relevant study material and publications, an exclusive and dedicated Reading Room open round-the-clock, financial aid for meritorious students from economically weaker backgrounds, comfortable accommodation at reasonable rates, a serene and tranquil campus, accommodation in Gujarat Bhavan, New Delhi for candidates appearing for the interview, etc. CENTER FOR GOOD GOVERNANCE The Gujarat Center for Good Governance is a unit within SPIPA engaged in research, evaluation, documentation and training.

It strives to promote the spirit of public service and skill up-gradation through constant monitoring. Given the diversities within our country, challenges in governance and public administration are bound to increase manifold. SPIPA conducts skill development programs for government officials at various levels. These programs focus on up-skilling and morale boosting of the officials. Research and documentation is also conducted in the Centre for Good Governance in projects sponsored by the State Government, Government of India and other organizations.  Under a scheme of the Department of Commerce, Government of India, the Government of Gujarat has recently designated SPIPA as the Nodal Institution in the state to conduct research and impart training on subjects relevant to the state on WTO, Free Trade Agreements and International Trade. SPIPA is collaborating with the Centre for WTO Studies set up by the Department of Commerce in the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, New Delhi to fulfill this role. Gujarat is a state of entrepreneurship from ancient times. This modern day growth engine of India has special interest in various subjects and issues arising in international trade, and the contribution of SPIPA in this exclusive field shall be extremely noteworthy
