Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that 8 economic relief packages would also be announced. The government's relief package totals Rs 27.1 lakh crore, which was more than 13 per cent of GDP.

The government may try to help sectors affected by the recent lockdown by the new package. According to a Bloomberg report, the sectors that could benefit from the relief package include tourism, aviation and hospitality.

In this scheme, the government pays the PF of employees and companies with a salary of less than Rs 15,000.
