The state government has decided to extend the term of the traveling teacher scheme till the end of the

current academic year. Even after the expiration of Pravasi Shikshak Yojana, there are still vacancies for teachers in many schools of the state so that the education of students is not affected. . With this announcement, Ahmedabad city DEO has invited proposals from schools for the appointment of traveling teachers in the vacant posts of teachers.According to the information received, a scheme of honorarium pay per hour was implemented to ensure that the teaching work of the students would not be suspended till the place of teachers sanctioned in government and subsidized schools for primary, secondary and higher secondary education is filled by regular teachers. The scheme was extended till March 2021.

However, considering the vacancies of teachers in the primary, secondary and higher secondary schools of the state, the government was considering extending the scheme till the vacancies are filled by regular teachers so as not to affect the studies of the students. It has been decided by the government to extend the period of teaching work from honorarium till the end of the academic year 2021-22 till the vacancies of sanctioned teachers in government and aided schools for teaching in higher secondary schools are filled by regular teachers.

So now the schools will be able to recruit traveling teachers till the end of the current academic year. However, with the extension of the tenure of the traveling teachers, it is learned that the procedure for appointment has also been taken up.Ahmedabad city DEO has also taken action to fill the vacancies in schools after the extension of the scheme for traveling teachers. Ahmedabad city DEO has issued circular and instruction to all schools. It has been asked to send a proposal along with information about vacancies within three days as work is to be done for the appointment of a traveling teacher in the school where there is a vacancy for a teacher. Sources said that after receiving the proposal, traveling teachers would be appointed to fill the vacancies in the schools.
